#FeatureFriday #TMG #ACloserLook – Allen & Envy: Together In Transmission

This week, we are extremely pleased to feature our very own Allen & Envy and their amazing experience at Transmission in Melbourne on July 2nd!

The pair has taken the trance world by storm with Beatport chart-topping tracks and live performances at premiere electronic music stages around the world.

Allen & Envy’s unique 138 BPM sound and ever-changing sets with a constant rotation of new music and original tracks guarantees each performance to be a unique experience, and their set at Transmission proved to be no different!

We sat down with this impressive duo to learn more about their experience in Melbourne and the moments leading up to their live set!

Q: With this being your debut performance at Transmission, what would you say was the inspiration while putting together your set for the festival? Can we say that the performance also inspired some new music?fftogetherintransmission1

A: We aimed to get the perfect blend of some of our old, current and new tracks in the set, which we believe went down well! Big stadium events are always a great place to test new material and to see how they sound on a big system. Having the opportunity to Test out our forthcoming track on FSOE there and getting the response we got from the crowd was an electric feeling!

Q: Shortly after Transmission Festival, your release dedicated to the Melbourne trance community, #TranceFamilia, catapulted onto the Beatport Trance chart! Tell us about how this track came to be and the community that inspired it!

A: Melbourne has been one of our favourite places to perform for the past few years. The crowd is very musically educated and have the passion to match their enthusiasm for the music! Because we have such a loyal fan base there, we wanted to give something back in the form of a track dedicated to all the members of #TranceFamilia group.

Q: Transmission is also known for its incredible special effects during live acts and special scenography! How would you say this element contributed to the hype in your set and the excitement in the crowd? I imagine the vibe in the Hisense Arena was quite intense!fftogetherintransmission2

A: We have never seen production like it! The whole experience as an artist was breath-taking. Every artist had an individual two-minute-long introduction and the cheers from the crowd were deafening at points. It was safe to say that Melbourne had never experienced anything to that level before!

Q: In your down time, we know you had the opportunity to tour the area! What was your favorite experience while in Melbourne?

A: It was nice to be able to relax for a few days between shows there. We walked along the river into the centre a few times. There is so much to do there that we didn’t know where to begin, so the Jack Daniels bar on the river front seemed like a good place to start! We have made a large number of friends over there so our favourite experience was meeting up with them and eating out because the food out there is hard to beat!
