#FeatureFriday #TMG #ACloserLook – Create Music

This week we have a closer look into “Create Music”, an independent record label distributed by Black Hole Recordings and owned by DJ & Producer, Lange.

The label was launched by Lange in 2015 with the purpose of curating a sound that reminds us of the underground, but with a fresh twist.

After all, it is this sound that drove Lange to dance music in the first place and lucky for us, it did!  Given the tremendous amount of success and accolades he has seen in his extensive career as a professional musician, it makes sense that he would want to “Create” a similar experience for others.  To better understand the motivation and story behind the label, let’s jump back to the start.

Prior to the first release, Lange began introducing the idea with his new weekly radio show Create, offering something totally different to listeners.  With more variation from week to week, live shows, guests, rabbit hole mixes and weekly flashbacks of the best tracks in dance history, Lange was priming his fans for the grooved techno-edged sound, ranging from the progressive to aggressive, that the label would encompass.

Solidifying meaning to the label and it’s vision, Lange released Create’s first record, ‘Wired to Be Inspired’, in August of 2015.  Seemingly different than any other trance record out at the time, the track was a welcomed rebirth by fans and DJs alike.  The track reached #6 on Beatport’s trance chart and from there the precedent was set: Create Music artists would have to push the boundaries of trance and pull inspiration from all genres of music to earn the honor of being a part of the family.

Fast forward 24 releases later to today…  The label is now an established brand with Lange’s weekly Create Music Radio Show following suit, keeping fans up to date with the latest releases and occasionally a hint at future tracks from the boss himself as well as the many talented artists the label can proudly boast.  Some of these artists include: Alex Daf, Danilo Ercole, David Forbes, Iversoon, Johnny Yono, Johann Stone, Mike Saint-Jules, Quincy Weigert, Rafael Osmo, Tempo Giusto and more!  In addition, Create Strobe, a home that encompasses the type of carefully crafted, high-energy trancers that are created for when the dance-floor is primed and ready to ignite, saw its first release as a sub-label alongside Create Music.

So what should one expect from the label in 2017? If the first release of the year is in anyway telling, then it is safe to say 2017 will be out of this world for Create Music!  North and South America collide in this collaboration of epic proportions entitled, ‘Mars Rover’. Brazilian Danilo Ercole is back on Create, this time producing alongside New York’s finest and TMG artist, Mike Saint-Jules! Straight off the launch pad, there’s a sense of speed as the ‘Mars Rover’ hurtles toward the breakdown zone. The crisp beats and percussion give way to an initially tranquil drop. A classic-esque chord sequence starts to amplify the tension and by the end of the break you’re yearning for the solid, stab-filled drop that follows.

On the flip side, Mike delivers an extra module to the release. Mars Rover goes interstellar in the form of a deeper, bubbling feast of electronica.

Fortunately, there are plenty more discoveries to look forward to from both of these artists on Create in the very near future!
