Pioneering the NYC Rooftop Lounge trend as one of Manhattan’s premiere Hotel Nightlife destinations, AVA Lounge had to engage and appeal to patrons through different avenues. The challenge was to bring a large number of guests daily to a venue with no outside street signs and that required an elevator ride up 15 floors. But, through strong press and ultimately word of mouth, the venue flourished and provided a launching pad for Addison to expand on his vision.

Magnolia Restaurant occupies the ground floor at 350 West 40th street. Designed by the incredible team at Gene Kaufman Architect, Magnolia’s 6000 square-feet interior is comprised of white brick, natural textiles, rich wood, and polished brass. The space also gives way to a seasonal garden patio for patrons to relax and enjoy the warmer months outside.
Addison envisioned Magnolia to be a full-service restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, making it the first of AHG’s portfolio to do so! The group welcomes Executive Chef Alan Wise, who has curated the menus for Magnolia Restaurant and Lovage Rooftop & Indoor Lounge. With roots in New York City’s Michelin-Starred restaurants, Chef Wise worked as Sous-Chef for eateries such as Juni, Picholine, and Rouge Tomate, and subsequently as Chef de Cuisine at Public. Chef Wise has infused simple, clean, and product-driven dishes into AHG’s culinary program.
At least as impressive as Magnolia, Lovage Rooftop & Indoor Lounge sits atop the Manhattan skyline nestled between the Hudson River and the main of Time Square. Providing an enclosed interior 36 floors high, Lovage is a nightlife destination where patrons are welcomed by a specialty cocktail list, full bar and light fare.
The venue stretches 4000 square feet with sprawling 17-foot-floor-to-ceiling windows. Adjoined at the peak of these windows is Lovage’s glass roof, completing your 360-degree access to the visual aesthetics of New York City. Yet, as much as you may find the Empire State Building or the Freedom Tower views to be distracting, the interior of Lovage drives home a true feeling of opulence. Floors of walnut herringbone and polished cement line the space while chainmail columns, chairs in stroke-painted velvet upholstery and Christian Lacroix fabrics give way to a stunning dining experience.
