This month we feature Celebrity Hairstylist, Artist & Filmmaker, Andreas Anastasis and his Salon located in the heart of Manhattan’s West Village. Like many artists, Andreas always had a passion for the aesthetics, but also was exposed to the world of fashion and arts at a young age. Let’s first explore some of the reasons Andreas is so highly regarded by his colleagues and clients by taking a quick look at his past endeavors.
Andreas was born in Central London to a Greek Cypriot family. His involvement with style started when he would watch his mom work on client’s hair at their family owned salon. Growing up in London Andreas was always privy to the most up to date styles and fads. Pursuant of his passion, he attended the London College of Fashion years later. It was here where his keen eye for style developed, setting him apart from his peers. Following his education at the college, Andreas honed his skills at the Toni & Guy Hair Academy also located in the city of London. With his sights set high and given the worldly views he was exposed to in school, Andreas dreamed of pursuing his career in fashion overseas.
Continuing his journey, New York became Andreas’ next and final stop to date where he started work as a hair stylist. Since moving, over two decades have passed and Andreas has quite the track record to show for it. Whether this relates to his work during New York’s coveted Fashion Week or his directing of and styling a multitude of shoots, these accolades coincide with the fundamentals instilled when he opened Andreas Anastasis Salon four years ago.
Aside from Andreas’ skills as an artist, his ability to find and recruit some of the industry’s top talent to develop alongside his brand as well as the attention to detail he lends to every one of his clients, propel the modest, four-chair studio salon onto a global platform of recognition that continues to grow.
As a professional artist, Andreas takes great pride in his work which can be seen by the sheer loyalty of his clients, some of whom have been with Andreas since his start twenty years ago. His goal is to have clients walk away the best version of themselves. Paying close attention to the current styles, Andreas incorporates his expertise with your needs, delivering results that breed trust and satisfaction.
The salon provides a level of intimacy and even has its own mascot, London, Andreas’ yorkipoo! In an age where people are constantly on their phones or distracted, Andreas and his salon make conversation seem natural, giving clients something to truly look forward to. To keep things interesting, Andreas continues to reinvent his space and update it, incorporating whenever possible his involvement in the arts & fashion industry outside of the salon.
As Andreas stays busy pursuing his talents alongside the salon, he enjoys interacting and staying in touch with his clients through Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. His latest project is a short movie entitled, ‘Beast or Raven’ of which he has already been awarded Best Director of a Short Film in this year’s Berlin International Film Festival.
This is one of the many ways the salon does an excellent job of creating a brand and client awareness. The salon staff enjoys posting about their success in work, different projects, personal life and inspirations on the virtual platform enabling a line of communication that easily represents the visual arts they are so passionate toward. Almost organically, clients end up interacting with staff often leading to friendships and new clients which is an authentic means of promoting the salon.
It is apparent that Andreas’ entrepreneurial spirit, coupled with his inviting personality, give way to a highly sought after and unique experience. So if you’re still curious or just want to stay up to date with the excitement, head over to the salon’s website and socials below!
